Bug Report: Error causing BAS to exit script and show Project Recorder has started. - Websites can detect proxies, header "Proxy-agent: Online_Application".
-
Engine Version: 23.2.2
OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.746)Screenshot of the error. https://puu.sh/HbDVb/ec120865ff.png
To produce the error, disable "Use process tunneling to enable proxy" https://puu.sh/HbDTp/f6c4c9a9ca.png .
Go to recorder mode, then connect to a proxy using the proxy module, it will switch to project recorder.
Enabling process tunneling fixes this bug.I also found out that websites can see that I'm using a proxy. With process tunneling enabled, when I send a request to ipify.org, the response has a header saying "Proxy-agent: Online_Application". I checked multiple websites, and they all have the Proxy-agent header if I'm connected to a proxy. https://whatismyipaddress.com/proxy-check can detect that I'm using a proxy because it fails the WIMIA Test. I searched the forums and found a suggestion by Fox saying to disable process tunneling to fix proxy detection, but then I get the project recorder error.
The proxy bug is differently in BAS, because if I connect to any of my proxies with a different program, they all pass.

It has been said many times, this setting is outdated and will be removed soon. Bugs related to disabling it will not be fixed.

@Fox Sorry, I couldn't find anything saying that when I searched. I do still need help with the second part of my thread, about how websites are able to see that I'm using a proxy when I'm using BAS. If I should post a separate thread for this, I can do so.
Thanks.

Yes, create a separate topic and attach a test script so can repeat the error.
